The Motion Graphics Designer will work on various projects that involve combining animation, audio, and visual effects into educational content. They will collaborate with the Video and Instructional Design teams to produce creative and informative graphics for videos featuring Babson faculty to be used in academic modules for a range of audiences. The Motion Graphics Designer will turn static designs, preliminary sketches, and written narratives into captivating visual content. They will be part of a team that oversees the project from the initial concept stage to the final product stage, making sure that each step of the design process results in compelling and dynamic graphics.


What You’ll Do:

  • Develop two-dimensional (2D) animations.
  • Use preferred design software tools such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Figma, After Effects, Davinci Resolve, and Apple Motion to bring concepts to life.
  • Develop visually appealing motion graphics that enhance educational content.
  • Partner with creative teams to brainstorm, contribute, and integrate design elements to project plans.
  • Work directly with instructional designers, other graphic designers, and video editors to outline and execute media needs.
  • Develop and translate client requirements into compelling motion graphics.
  • Select and manage appropriate visuals, typography, and other design elements, from either stock libraries or from scratch.
  • Effectively communicate with project teams, faculty, and stakeholders


What Education and Skills You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field such as computer animation, graphic design, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in video editing and motion graphics.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills; must work well in a team environment.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and strong desire to learn.
  • Must submit a link to portfolio, or other examples of recent work.
  • Ability to work independently and meet aggressive deadlines; willingness to multitask and assist on a variety of diverse projects.
  • Ability to work successfully with limited supervision. Must be a self-starter, problem-solver, and able to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must have strong skills in Microsoft 365.
  • Experience in broadcast motion graphics design a plus.
  • Experience with data visualization a plus.
  • Certification in motion graphics or related software tools a plus.
  • Availability to work on-site at least 2 days per week
