Artisan bakery coming soon specializing in naturally leavened, hand-shaped breads and French breakfast pastries. Seeking a skilled Head Baker with at least two years of artisan bread baking experience in a retail and/or wholesale bakery.

Responsibilities & Expectations:

— Ensure the continued health and flavor of the starters with precise feeding and maintenance
— Mixing, scaling, and shaping boules and baguettes
— Loading oven and baking off bread and pastries
— Consistently produce doughs that meet or exceed the chef’s standards
— Maintain a clean and safe space in accordance with operations and sanitation guidelines
— Willing to learn and adapt to work in a small kitchen
— Excellent communication and teamwork skills
— Foster a positive work environment

Skills & Requirements

— Applicants must have at least two years of artisan bread baking experience in a retail and/or wholesale bakery
— Work closely with other bakers and kitchen staff to coordinate and execute the program efficiently
— Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
— Works well under minimum supervision with the ability to finish prep/baking needs within the day
— Must be able to accommodate an early morning schedule starting at 5:00am
— Weekend availability
— Ability to work on your feet for a full shift and lift 50+ lbs during the shift
— Must be 18 years of age or older and authorized to work in the US
