Bar Heretic is a neighborhood bakery/café and wine bar in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. We specialize in natural and organic wines, seasonal bar snacks, and naturally leavened breads and baked goods   JOB OVERVIEW At Bar Heretic, a Porter is responsible for receiving and storing food and paper goods orders, washing and organizing dishes, trash removal, and other activities to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment. Reports to the Kitchen Operations Manager.   Receives orders, checks them against purchase orders, and alerts manager of any missing or incorrect items. Breaks down all order packaging and stores items according to set standards Washes all kitchen dishes and returns them to their assigned locations Assists with kitchen prep as needed Ensures trash and recycling is removed from kitchen and dining areas throughout shift, and sets out trash at closing Maintains a clean and sanitary food production area according to Department of Health standards Works towards mastering all shifts and production processes Assists FOH café team if needed Performs other duties as required or assigned   QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent 1+ year of experience in a kitchen position Basic math and measuring skills Strong work ethic, communication and time management skills   JOB REQUIREMENTS Availability to work onsite with an open, flexible schedule often including mornings, evenings and weekends Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting Food Handler’s License required   BENEFITS AND PERKS Medical Insurance and Paid Time Off Free daily staff meal More detail about Bar Heretic, please visit https://culinaryagents.com/entities/973844-bar-heretic
