About Us: Founded in 1994, SCHARP is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving ethnic minority populations, homeless individuals, and those with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. The mission is to improve lives through culturally sensitive, quality mental health and social services. BAFMA was Established in 1993 and provides integrated mental health services to underrepresented adults and older adults in Los Angeles County. Services include screening, case management, crisis intervention, and specialized programs such as Full-Service Partnerships (FSP) and Out-Patient Clinical Services (OCS). Position Overview: We are seeking a Medical Director of Psychiatry to lead clinical and administrative functions across SCHARP and BAFMA. This is a full-time role with a 60% administrative and 40% clinical workload. Position Highlights: Provide direct psychiatric care at least one day per week. Report to the CEO to ensure compliance with policies and standards. Lead and oversee the psychiatry providers as well as provide guidance to non-medical staff. Implement operational procedures and develop medical policies in collaboration with the executive team. Address barriers to care and improve appointment adherence. Manage budgets, productivity metrics, and staff performance. Provide education and training to enhance client care and provider communication. The Ideal Candidate: Board-certified psychiatrist with a minimum of 10 years of experience. Strong leadership and administrative skills. Experience in high-acuity and community mental health settings preferred. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations and multidisciplinary teams. Additional board certifications are preferred, including child and adolescent psychiatry, internal medicine, family medicine, addiction medicine and forensic medicine. Why Join Us?
