Summary CHS, Inc is in search of a EHS Specialist to join our Animal Nutrition team Day to day you will partner with location leaders & employees to deliver feed/occupational safety training, administer audits, record keeping and ensure safety standards are being met. This position offers location flexibility within central/northern SD and will be onsite from 8-4:30p, with a monthly travel expectation to feed mills within the region, along with additional locations on an annual basis. Apply today Responsibilities With assistance, coordinate compliance with all applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) related. requirements (federal, state, local, and company).Assist in the development and implementation of EH&S related plans, programs, policies, and procedures.Conduct effective EH&S related training for employees, contractors, and visitors.Conduct most basic EH&S related audits, workplace inspections, job safety analysis, and maintain detailed recordkeeping.Provide first aid for minor injuries and coordinate prompt medical attention for more serious injuries.Conduct accident investigations, manage worker's compensation process, and return to work program.Communicate EH&S related requirements and expectations to other departments and personnel to ensure regulatory compliance and a safe work environment.Properly respond to day-to-day EH&S related issues in a timely and efficient manner.Keep current on all applicable EH&S related rules and regulations.Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned. Minimum Qualifications (required) High School diploma or GEDKnowledge of Environmental, Health, and/or Safety Additional Qualifications Ability to complete OSHA 30 hour construction training certification program Ability to travel 30%-40% Knowledge of food safety procedures Bachelor's degree preferred in Occupational Health, Environmental Health and Safety, or related fieldPre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre-employment screenings to include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements and FMSCA Clearinghouse Physical Requirements Ability to climb ladders and operate equipment needed to inspect facilitiesAbility to work in dusty and adverse and changeable weather conditions CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
