Are you a General Surgery physician searching for your next locum tenens opportunity? This position with one of VISTA's healthcare partners in Missouri might be the perfect fit for you Opportunity Highlights Schedule: Weekends without coverage and possibly occasional days during the week. Call shifts are 8am-8am.Job Setting: Hospital System - Mercy Health, 120 beds in department, Trauma Level 3Types of Cases: 6-10 patient encounters per shift. General Surgery including adult, pediatric, and neonate; laparoscopic surgery (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty, Nissen fundoplication); head/neck surgery (including thyroid); chest wall/pleural procedures; breast surgery; obstetric & gynecologic surgery (cesarean section, D&C, hysterectomy); liver surgery; GI endoscopy (upper, lower, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy); minor orthopedics; hand surgery; ventilation management; chest tube insertion; central line insertion; PA catheter placement; vascular surgery (aneurysm repairs - thoracic and abdominal, arterial bypass, peripheral, vascular access devices, AV shunt); plastic surgery. For physicians trained as pediatric surgeons: artesias (esophageal, intestinal, biliary); abdominal wall defects (gastroschisis); umbilical defects (hernia, omphalocele); diaphragmatic hernia; imperforate anus; PDA ligation.Credentialing: 60-90 days Minimum Requirements Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Eligible minimum; Board Certified requiredCertifications: ACLS, BLSLicensure: Fellowship 1.
