Chief Engineer

Our client, the pharmaceutical manufacturing and laboratory industry, is seeking a Chief Engineer to join their team. As a Chief Engineer, you will be part of the Facilities Management Department supporting pharmaceutical operations and compliance teams. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving which will align successfully in the organization. Job Title:Chief Engineer Location:Milpitas, California Pay Range: $45/hr- $50/hr Shift:1st Shift M-F: Regular overtime as operational needs require Mandatory 24/7 on-call rotation: approximately one week per month Must be available for emergency response within 30 minutes during on-call periods What's the Job? Lead all facilities operations, maintenance, and regulatory compliance within a pharmaceutical environment. Perform hands-on technical work on critical systems including HVAC, electrical, and specialized pharmaceutical equipment. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure facility reliability and compliance. Coordinate with operations teams to schedule maintenance activities that minimize production impact. Support validation activities, change control procedures, and regulatory inspections to maintain GMP standards. What's Needed? Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field. Minimum of 8 years of facilities management experience, with at least 5 years in pharmaceutical or FDA-regulated environments. HVAC certification such as NATE or equivalent, and electrical licensing or certification. Experience with validated systems, GMP, GLP, and GCP regulations.
