We have an immediate need for a skilled Pediatric Physician to provide locum tenens coverage in a healthcare facility near Brookneal, VA. This short-term assignment offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience while working with a supportive team in an inpatient setting.Assignment Highlights:Location: Near Brookneal, VirginiaAssignment Duration: October 31, 2024 - November 5, 2024Coverage Type: Call-only, with 24-hour shifts (7 AM - 7 AM)Practice Setting: Inpatient (No outpatient requirement)Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Systems: Athena & MeditechPrivileges: Temporary privileges available for immediate start, with credentialing approximately 60 days if requiredResponsibilities:Provide 24-hour call coverage, addressing patient needs as they ariseAttend all newborn deliveries and assist with C-sectionsPerform consults in the emergency department as neededFacilitate patient transfers and admit patients to the pediatric unitFacility and Support:Department Beds: 6Support Staff: 2 Registered Nurses (RNs) per shift; no supervision of advanced practice providers requiredOn-Site Resources: Specialty skills in neonatal and pediatric ventilation management, sedation, central line insertion, and more as needed for comprehensive pediatric careRequirements:Board Certification: Board-certified or board-eligible in PediatricsLicensure: Active Virginia license or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) eligibilityCertifications: PALS and NRP required; ACLS, ABLS, and ATLS not requiredSkills Required: Proficiency in various pediatric procedures, including:Non-invasive and invasive ventilation management (newborn and pediatric)Intubation (ETT/NT for newborn and pediatric patients)Sedation (conscious and deep sedation)Central line, arterial line, UVC, and UAC placementsBasic minor procedures such as lumbar punctures, chest tube insertion, and suturingAdditional Details:Nearby Airport and Lodging: Travel and lodging options are conveniently accessibleInsurance: Provided by the locum agencyEmergency Privileging: Available for candidates with a clean background and active VA licenseIf you are a qualified Pediatric Physician seeking a locums assignment with excellent support and flexibility, we encourage you to apply today.
