The Associate Director of Military Outreach and Veteran Partnerships is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of military installations and veteran partnerships, coordinating outreach initiatives that maintain and establish relationships, and collaborating with the Director of Military Outreach and Veteran Partnerships to attract additional military and veteran partners to expand the vertical. The goal of this position is to help Excelsior grow inquiries, enrollments, credit taking, and revenue through new and established military and veteran relationships. The Associate Director of Military Outreach and Veteran Partnerships will support the Director of Military Outreach and Veteran Partnerships, assisting with management, coaching, mentoring, training, and development of designated team members and representing the Director of Military Outreach and Veteran Partnerships amongst internal and external stakeholders, in their absence.In this role, the Associate Director of Military Outreach and Veteran Partnerships will support the Director of Military Outreach and Veteran Partnerships to build awareness of Excelsior as a leader in distance learning. Acting as an account manager, this role will support the development of strategic engagement and marketing plans, oversee and manage a portfolio of military bases and veteran partnerships, build relationships with C-level and upper-level-members of military installations and veteran organizations.Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in coordinating, executing, and supporting the team and university strategic plan.
  • Assist with the hiring, management, coaching, mentoring, training, and development of team members, as needed.
  • Engage existing military installations and veteran partners through relationship building, site visits, webinars, presentations, and other forms of outreach.
  • Develop key contacts within a designated portfolio with the goal of building workforce development, degree and certificate completion initiatives, and educational opportunities.
  • Manage existing portfolio of partnerships by developing and executing engagement, outreach, and marketing initiatives that will meet inquiry, enrollment, credit taking, and revenue goals.
  • Manage and execute new military installations and veteran partner onboarding initiatives.
  • Engage with military installations and veteran partners and students via social media, newsletters, direct mail, email campaigns and/or other communication vehicles as per Excelsior guidelines and best practices.
  • Prepare presentations, webinars, and content for presenting to military installations and veteran partner contacts and students on Excelsior University programs, products, and services. Assist with the development of unofficial evaluations, admissions, and advising processes.
  • Manage effective engagement, marketing, and communication plans for each military installation and veteran partner within designated portfolio, including B2C engagement, development, and execution.
  • Track all military installation and veteran partner activities via Salesforce and ensure all final documents are posted in SharePoint.
  • Represent Excelsior University at appropriate conferences, participating in seminars/forums etc. Build and grow military installation and veteran relationships and conduct student engagements with the goal of growing inquiries, enrollments, credit taking, and revenue.
  • Generate and provide reports and updates to military installation and veteran partners as needed.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least five years of work experience in a related role, such as military outreach, sales, account management, marketing, admissions, recruiting, or business development required.
  • Ability to work with multiple, diverse stakeholders across complex organizations.
  • Success in inquiry, enrollment, credit taking, and revenue generation and building successful partnership programs.
  • Familiarity with national corporations, associations, government agencies, military installations, veteran organizations, and academic institutions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key decision makers and develop a high level of understanding for professional development and workforce needs within key organizations and verticals.
  • Project management skills.
  • Demonstrate creativity, enthusiasm, and openness to innovation.
  • Ability to master a wide body of knowledge and information.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to review/prepare accurate detailed documents.
  • Proficient computer literacy and willingness to learn new applications, Knowledge of Microsoft Office products required. Knowledge of Salesforce and SharePoint a plus.
Preferred Qualification's
  • Prior military service and military affiliation is required.
  • Familiarity with national corporations, associations, government agencies, military bases, veteran organizations, and academic institutions in a geographic area or within an assigned industry vertical.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key decision makers
  • Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Must reside in Washington D.C. or surrounding area.
