Position: Solar Operations and Maintenance Technician II



Location: North MS (Tupelo, Southaven, MS)



This role involves carrying out operations and maintenance tasks within specific facilities. The ideal candidate should possess experience in executing electrical duties in DC, AC, and MV systems, as well as conducting basic electrical testing using industry-standard methods.



Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on the facility, including substation, UPS, battery backup, and SCADA systems
  • Execute corrective maintenance and repair tasks as instructed, covering substation, UPS, battery back-up, and SCADA systems
  • Generate necessary reports as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Conduct testing using IV Curve Tracers, Power Quality Meters, Insulation Resistance Testers, Multimeters, and other relevant equipment
  • Provide expertise and guidance to Solar O&M Technician I in electrical systems and safety

Required Qualifications:

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License
  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA70E, and OSHA standards
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Preferably, a State electrical license or NABCEP certification

Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred



Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an electrician, maintenance electrician, or completion of a recognized apprenticeship program
  • Prior experience in solar installation or maintenance is highly advantageous
  • Knowledge of MV/HV systems, IT systems, Inverters, T&D systems, Substations, or other specialized electrical systems is valuable
  • Previous exposure to electrical construction and/or commissioning is beneficial
