JOB SUMMARY

The EHS Engineer will establish and promote the maintenance of a safe, healthy work environment compliant with all applicable regulations. They will also develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and employee communications regarding safety guidelines.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ability to use knowledge of OSHA standards to adopt, develop, and implement general safety policies and procedures to be followed by company personnel in compliance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Hazardous Waste Generator, DOT requirements, LOTO, PIT, PPE, Electrical Safety, Material Movement, HAZCOM, and Ergonomics.
  • Train employees in safe workplace practices.
  • Form relationships with partner departments and leadership for a proactive EHS environment.
  • Consult with all departments on equipment design, fire prevention, and safety programs.
  • Recognize hazards and recommend corrective measures.
  • Facilitate Change Management within facilities for EHS.
  • Layout manufacturing workspace for a safe working environment.
  • Formulate safety policies and guidelines.
  • Inspect facilities for potential hazards.
  • Recommend corrective or preventative measures.
  • Keep employees alerted about working with hazardous substances.
  • Develop training programs for safe practices.
  • Participate in accident investigations.
  • Maintain safety files and records.
  • Support company safety and quality programs.

Other responsibilities may be assigned based on company evolution and departmental requirements.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Health/Safety manufacturing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to lead and present in meetings.
  • Strong written documentation skills in MS Office preferred.
