Job Summary:
The Career Coach role will help individuals develop job-seeking skills, secure employment, achieve educational goals, and maintain financial stability through middle-skills career pathways. As a Career Coach, you will also coordinate services to overcome barriers and provide counseling and support as necessary to assist individuals in achieving their objectives.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Create an inclusive environment for individuals seeking training or employment assistance.
  • Engage with individuals to improve their job prospects through intake sessions and ongoing interactions.
  • Enhance participants' employability by identifying training needs, improving soft skills, and aiding in resume and job application preparation.
  • Establish and nurture partnerships with community employment resources and service providers.
  • Conduct job development activities such as employer outreach and participation in job fairs.
  • Allocate a significant amount of time engaging with clients in the community while providing excellent customer service.
  • Supervise and train volunteers working at the center.
  • Maintain professional interactions with colleagues and external contacts.
  • Ensure smooth client flow, offer necessary information, and uphold a high level of service.
  • Communicate with clients through various channels and maintain detailed records.
  • Create documents and posts related to center events, job fairs, and training programs.
  • Manage center supplies and maintain databases accurately.
  • Assist in creating reports, documents, and managing schedules.
  • Provide ongoing support to clients on various topics like training programs and job placements.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Handle correspondence with external agencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:

Education:
  • Associate's degree in a related field is a must.
Experience:
  • 1 - 3 years of relevant experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years office experience is necessary.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and willingness to learn new software.
  • Strong typing and data entry capabilities.
  • Basic math skills and quick to learn new processes.
  • Effective written and verbal communication across all levels of an organization.
  • Outstanding customer service and interpersonal abilities.
  • Good time-management and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Prior office management or placement experience is a plus.
