Job Description
The Network Capacity Planning team is seeking a Development Director to lead our capacity planning tooling team. This person will lead capacity management and planning efforts across all of OCI's network infrastructure.

The development team supporting this organization builds data collection, modeling, and reporting tools to effectively monitor and manage the OCI cloud network's capacity.

A successful candidate in this role will have experience with network capacity tooling and an understanding of network capacity and network capacity management.


You will be a hands-on leader of developers and data scientists to expand the tools at OCI, and create additional modeling to support the capacity planning teams.

You will collaborate closely with those teams for input on improvements as well as work proactively to design and create solutions to support the business.


Responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • 5 years in management acting as a player-coach
  • Python
  • Relational & Timeseries DBs
  • Networking experience (backbone, internet, dwdm)
  • Networking experience (understanding of BGP, OSPF, MPLS/RSVP-TE)
  • Prior capacity management/network management tooling
  • Grafana or similar graphical presentation tools
  • Experience with cloud service offerings to accomplish data collection and modeling

Preferred experience:

  • Cloud network management
  • Time series & forecast
  • Prior experience building failure & capacity modeling tools

US:

Hiring Range:
from $120,300 to $291,900 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.


Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off:
Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits.

For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

9. 11 paid holidays

Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
