The Electronics Commodity Buyer is part of the Supply Chain Team. This is a full-time, exempt position. This position will require a broad range of responsibilities to ensure success. Some examples of these responsibilities are listed below (but are not limited to the following):

  • Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate the best pricing.
  • Process requisitions and update management on the status of orders.
  • Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels.
  • Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Purchasing commodities and services to meet specialized or complex needs.
  • Make purchase decisions in accordance with company procedures and regulations.
  • Analyze purchase requisitions and review them for accuracy and completion.
  • Identify and select vendors and suppliers using criteria such as quantity and quality of commodities, price, and delivery date.
  • Work with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree focus in Supply Chain preferred.
  • 5-6 years of experience in Procurement/Supply Chain Management or Engineering.
  • Extensive knowledge of electronic commodity buying, and operations gained through progressive buying experience.
  • Conduct regular Business Performance Reviews with Suppliers
  • Proven ability to construct value stream industry maps and utilize advanced financial techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to hold cost-out sessions with suppliers and appropriate internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to identify process issues and drive improvements to improve operational efficiency.
  • Knowledge and experience with ERP systems and implementation
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • High level of integrity
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Takes strong ownership of projects, emphasizing accuracy and detail orientation.
  • Well organized, methodical, and consistent in work product.
  • Process a strong desire to learn with a positive attitude.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of PCBA and Cable Assemblies is advantageous.
