Job SummaryDescription

This role is part of the ConocoPhillips L48 Digital Infrastructure team, supporting telecommunications in the L48 Business Unit. Reporting to the L48 IT Infrastructure Supervisor, the role involves managing network infrastructure at various sites within the L48 Permian fields.
Job Description
Your responsibilities may include:
  • Supporting Field Network Infrastructure and Well Communications
  • Understanding basic Oil & Gas operations
  • Maintaining and fostering Business Unit relationships by serving as an IT liaison with Operations
  • Assisting in SCADA implementation at production facilities for process control and data gathering
  • Developing IT training materials for BU operations related to TCOM issues
  • Expertise in troubleshooting network issues and utilizing spectrum analyzers for cable and RF testing
  • Communicating network changes effectively and understanding their impact on Oil & Gas operations
  • Managing IP Address/DNS for network devices at new facilities
  • Supervising capital projects in the Business Unit in compliance with safety policies
  • Monitoring network performance and providing metrics to BU Operations and IT leadership
  • Ensuring the functionality of emergency power generators, site security, and cleanliness at tower locations
  • Overseeing Process Control Networks (PCN) integral to Oil & Gas production
  • Leading a small team and providing second-line support for wireless technologies
Basic/Required:
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis
  • 5+ years of experience in OT/IT networking support
  • Proficiency in various wireless technologies and Cisco IOS command line
  • Experience in network troubleshooting and leadership roles
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent
  • CCNA certification or equivalent in Routing and Switching
  • Expertise in specific radio products, power solutions, and networking technologies
  • Experience with network protocols, monitoring software, and RF propagation
  • Knowledge of cellular technologies and FCC regulations
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines and drive positive results
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for learning and adopting new technologies
  • Demonstrates accountability, active listening, and ability to influence positively
