Job Description

Research in the McGraw lab focuses on the development and regeneration of sensory systems using zebrafish as a model organism. The lab is seeking a Research Assistant to oversee the fish facility of around 450 tanks and to participate in basic laboratory upkeep and research. The primary duties of this position are zebrafish care and husbandry, as well as water testing and equipment maintenance.
The position will include feeding the fish, maintaining a brine shrimp culture, dish washing and preparing solutions. Additional work might include molecular biology experiments and other laboratory tasks as need.
Requirements for the position are good organization skills, an ability to work well with others, follow written instructions, to ask questions, to pay attention to detail, to have a professional attitude, punctuality, and reliability. The incumbent will also oversee undergraduate student helpers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree
Computers skills, such as the ability to use Excel, Word and email.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Bachelor's degree in a field related to Life Sciences, such as Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or Fishery Sciences
