SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervises children during free play on outdoor and indoor play areas
  • Oversees children in lunch areas
  • Assists in maintaining orderly and clean work areas
  • Participates in workshops and required in-service activities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Any combination equivalent to completion of the eleventh grade and some experience working with children

Must be physically fit to lead and participate in a variety of activities

Ability to maintain conditions for safety

Ability to communicate effectively in different settings

Ability to lift/carry equipment/supplies/children up to 50 pounds.

Must have mobility to stoop, bend, reach and climb


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with staff, parents, and children
  • Basic understanding of child behavior
  • Ability to follow instructions effectively
  • Effective communication with children, staff, and parents
  • Knowledge of basic first aid for playground supervision

Comments and Other Information

The district office hours are from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and closed from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Monday - Friday.

If selected for the position, a department of justice criminal background check is required prior to employment. The cost for this background check is $57.00 to be paid by the applicant.
