Senior MSSQL Developer

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled MSSQL Developer to join our team. This role focuses on enhancing and optimizing our existing systems, with an emphasis on data cleansing and loading, stored procedure development, and query optimization within MSSQL Server. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with legacy code, coupled with a strong understanding of Microsoft SQL Server.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with others to understand legacy system requirements and devise strategies for modernization while maintaining compatibility.
  • Design and implement stored procedures to efficiently cleanse, ingest, and process large volumes of medical claims data.
  • Develop and optimize stored procedures and queries to implement claims pricing algorithms and analyze data.
  • Refactor and enhance existing legacy code to improve maintainability, scalability, and extensibility.
  • Perform thorough testing and debugging of stored procedures and queries to identify and address issues promptly.
  • Create technical documentation and provide training to support staff on legacy system functionalities and best practices.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in MSSQL Server technologies and database optimization techniques.
Skills/experience needed to be successful:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience in working with legacy code and databases, preferably in the medical claims processing industry.
  • Strong proficiency in MSSQL Server TSQL, including stored procedure development, query optimization, and database administration.
  • Experience with data cleansing and loading techniques, including data validation and transformation.
  • Proficient in refactoring and optimizing legacy code to improve performance and maintainability.
  • Solid understanding of database architecture, normalization, and indexing principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work within a team environment and interface with stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with healthcare industry standards and regulations, such as HIPAA and HITRUST, related to data security and privacy.
Salary: Starting at $120K plus dependent on experience
