TSR is looking for an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Designer to join a leading EPC company in proximity to Buffalo, NY. This role offers a prolonged contract opportunity.

Job Role Overview:

  • Engage in project assignments and upkeep support within chemical facilities, involving the creation of drawings for electrical gear, power supplies, instruments, panels, and associated wiring.
  • Tasks encompass P&ID modifications, single-line electrical distribution, motor and control schematics, along with the necessary details for construction fabrication, installation, quality assurance, cost estimation, and loop data documentation.
  • Responsibilities also include collecting field data, identifying reference drawings, drafting specifications, obtaining quotations for E & I components, and composing E & I sections for scopes of work.

Key Functions:

  • Demonstrate proficient knowledge in power distribution, motor control, PLC/DCS systems, instrumentation, wire & cable sizing, and NEC regulations.
  • Independently develop detailed engineering drawings for complex project areas.
  • Generate comprehensive engineering drawings for project areas complying with specified codes and design criteria set by the project discipline engineer.
  • Provide all necessary information for design specifics, bill of materials, and similar tasks that lower-grade personnel can finalize.
  • Review drawings from vendors, clients, and other departments influencing the assigned areas.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with Micro-Station is advantageous.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills are vital.
