Position Summary: As a Unit Clerk, you will perform various administrative and clerical duties to support the assigned area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greets patients and visitors
- Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls
- Calls codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested
- Enters nursing requests with proper approvals
- Assists with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Maintains patient records and charts
- Performs clerical tasks such as copying, filing, and stocking supplies
- Assists RNs and physicians with patient activities
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6 months of experience as a unit clerk or in a similar role
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and stressful environment
