About the role:
At Samsara, Data and Analytics is a critical team within Sales Operations and strategy.

Our mission is to drive sales performance by empowering Sales and Sales Operations through next-generation insight and analytical tools that support intelligent selling, advanced data infrastructure, and reporting standardization.

We are a scrappy and growing team that loves all things data We are passionate about leveraging world-class data and analytics to deliver a great customer experience.


We are looking for our dedicated data engineering + BI expert to help us supercharge our ability to deliver insights at scale and help develop the data infrastructure foundation for us to build scalable data solutions for our stakeholders.

In this role, you will:
Develop and maintain databases, datasets, pipelines, and Business Intelligence solutions to enable standardized reporting and scalable analytics

Develop insightful dashboards using Tableau to enable our executive stakeholders to make decisions with a single source of truth analytics

Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business solutions

Work with data from a variety of sources including but not limited to CRM data, Finance data, Marketing Data

Manage critical data pipelines to enable our sales initiatives and advanced analytics

Develop and improve the current data architecture, data quality, monitoring, and data availability

Write data transformations in SQL/Python to generate data products consumed by Sales, Sales Operations, Marketing, Product and finance teams

Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

3-4 years of working experience in an analytical or data engineering role

Strong SQL and proficient Python knowledge with hands-on data modeling experience

Experience with data warehouse technical architectures, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools

Experience with development lifecycle tools such as Github, etc.

Experience with data visualization tools and packages (e.g. Tableau, Looker, Domo)

Hands-on experience working with modern data technologies stacks such as Databricks, Google Big Query, Redshift, RDS, Snowflake, or similar solutions

Comfortable in working with business customers to gather requirements and gain a deep understanding of varied datasets

Self-starter, motivated, responsible, innovative, and technology-driven individual who performs well both independently and as a team member

A proactive problem solver and have good communication as well as project management skills to relay your findings and solutions across technical and non-technical audiences

BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience

Fluent English is required

An ideal candidate also has:
Familiarity with data and DBT

Kind and collaborative orientation who is energized by working with a lot of different types of people from many teams

Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects on a tight deadline

Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills

A good sense of humor is welcome

Samsara's Compensation Philosophy :


Samsara's compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market.

We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles.

For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually.


We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market positioning.

The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below.

Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
