The purpose of the Planner/Scheduler position is to assure the timely execution of service/maintenance and product line related forecasting, production planning, and inventory management activities in support of total customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

The Opportunity ...:

Major Responsibility Area 1: Forecasting and Planning Activities

  • Chair and/or participate in Forecast and Safety Stock Requirement meetings for all product lines, including incorporating used material from PRC area in material requirements
  • Maintain Service Materials and Equipment Forecasts for all purchased and internally produced items, including the CP Global Forecasting SharePoint Site for all Lakeland product lines
  • Work closely with Buyers to maintain balance between inventory levels and customer requirements and forecast
  • Review and generate customer order commitment dates for all sales orders.
  • Perform rough cut capacity planning with Production Scheduler, including analysis of what if situations.
  • Responsible for make item inventory control.
  • Perform MRP exception analysis at least once per week and release all shop orders to Production Floor.
  • Investigate shop order material discrepancies
  • Participate in Operations Department performance reporting and analysis
  • Evaluate and report Make item standard cost information
  • Maintain inventory levels according to the budget targets

Major Responsibility Area 2: Project Management Responsibilites

  • Work with Sales in analyzing and developing commitment dates for project completion.
  • Assist in the development of project time lines with Sales, Engineering, and Installation to ensure alignment of Engineering, Installation, and Logistics activities.
  • Process engineering releases in a timely manner.
  • Work with Buyer/Planners in the sourcing and expediting of materials for project completion.
  • Analyze project cost information with Sales to ensure budgets are met.

Major Responsibility Area 3: Miscellaneous Activies:

  • Review for approval all ECRs, including rework and/or scrapping of obsolete material upon completion of the ECR process
  • Coordinate process for handling non-conformance issues for manufactured items, including rework and or scrapping of material.

Education

Mandatory: High School Diploma

Preferred: APICS (American Production and Inventory control Society) Certificate

PMP Certification

BS in Engineering Industrial/Mechanical or Business

Experience

Mandatory: 2+ Years of Manufacturing and Inventory experience

ERP System knowlege

5+ years production scheduling and/or planning experience

Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access)

Good working knowledge of current business system

Preferred: 5+ years advanced excel/VB programming capability.
