EH&S Specialist
What does the job involve?
Summary:
The EHS Specialist will work closely with management in directing occupational health and safety programs at the plant level while ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations and standards.
Must be able to provide support to departments to take a proactive approach to ensure compliance.As a team member there will be an equal level of accountability, along with the management team, in promoting and accomplishing the health and safety initiatives at the plant level.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:
Develop and maintain accurate and compliant programs and procedures in EH&S
Coordinate audits and inspections of implemented programs within designated time frames, including but not limited to safety PPE/equipment inspection and tracking, emergency planning, exposure monitoring activities and chemical inventory
Calculate and track monthly Safety Statistics for the company and external providers (e.g. Cal-OSHA)
Management of Incident Tracker with appropriate corrective actions and timely resolutions
Coordinate compliance with the Management of Change Program with inter-department teams
Company liaison for external vendors, suppliers, and agencies
Coordinate EHS related training and safety related purchases
Follow all Senior policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned

Other Abilities:
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Must have project coordination experience and the ability to work with all levels of internal management and staff. Must be able to effectively troubleshoot and resolve issues in relation to project completion and EHS compliance concerns. Must have strong regulatory research proficiency, report writing and procedure creation/ revision.
Tools used:
Must be proficient at operating a personal computer, cell phone, copier/scanner, calculator, audiometer, gas meter, multimeter, WBGT, etc.
ITAR Compliance:
