Software Engineer (Data Production + Access) at Replica

Replica is a privacy-centric urban data platform that provides valuable insights about the built environment. With accurate data and a user-friendly design, Replica assists both public and private sectors in making well-informed decisions. Whether it's a city planner expanding public transit or a retailer planning new locations, Replica helps in making people-centered decisions.

Founded in 2019, Replica obtained funding from respected venture firms like Innovation Endeavors and Founders Fund. Currently, we have a team of 39 employees working from various locations including Oakland, New York, and Kansas City.

Responsibilities

  • Develop product features for accessing, visualizing, and interacting with complex urban data.
  • Design and maintain RESTful APIs for efficient nationwide data querying.
  • Collaborate with teams to understand user needs, manage requirements, and deploy urban data applications.
  • Contribute to the team's technical vision and best practices.
  • Ensure uptime and API stability through logging and observability tools.
  • Participate in on-call support and resolve production issues.
  • Ensure the delivery of correct and meaningful data to customers.

The Team

The Data Production and Access team comprises engineers and designers dedicated to addressing economic, equity, and sustainability challenges. The team focuses on developing components that drive data production and application features, making data accessible and valuable to users.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Experience: 3+ years in full-stack engineering.
  • Technical: Proficiency in web application development with modern JavaScript frameworks.

Bonus

  • Technical: Familiarity with tech stack including React, Typescript, Node, Mapbox, Python, and more.
  • Data background: Experience with big data frameworks and visualization.
  • Urban context: Academic or work background in Urban Science.

  • The salary range for this position is $98,100 to $149,600.
