POSITION SUMMARYThe Cage Lead is responsible for direct supervision of the cage bankers and cashiers in accordance with company Internal Control Policies and Procedures, state regulations, Bank Securities Act, Title 31 Rules and Regulations, and the company's Responsible Gaming Plan.

The Cage Lead is also responsible to create and foster an environment that supports and rewards Team Members for providing an Exciting environment and World Class Service by delivering Old-World Hospitality and Charm. He/She is accountable for cross-functional partnerships, as well as responsible to lead, inspire and develop his/her constituent.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIESThe following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all- inclusive.
  • Act as a Cage Lead in the absence of a full time Cage Shift Manager
  • Staff, schedule, evaluate, train, develop and monitor team members.
  • Assist in hiring, motivating, coaching and directing department team members that possess the aptitude to provide hospitality as well as deliver excitement.
  • Assist in management of regulatory and internal control procedure audits. Research and document any findings. Follow-up corrective action and recommend policy as well as procedural changes to mitigate future deficiencies.
  • Understand department objectives, standards, guidelines and budget to achieve effective supervision of department; adjust daily schedule according to business levels.
  • Monitor credit granting and collection policies and procedures to ensure established guidelines comply with all internal and external regulatory directives and laws.
  • Maintain protection of extremely large amounts of currency, ensuring prevention of loss by providing extreme care and attention to detail.
  • Evaluate and prepare daily cash deposit and electronic check deposits.
  • Ensure procedures and proper controls are strictly enforced to protect assets.
  • Monitor and evaluate overall company activities in relation to departmental operations to ensure integration of company needs with the services rendered through credit and collections.
  • Review compliance with relevant gaming regulations to ensure that the cage is operating within these parameters, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Work with customer relations issues that are beyond the authority of staff in order to resolve situations in an equitable manner.
  • Monitor and evaluate the activities of Cage Cashiers to ensure achievement of financial, policy and regulatory objectives.
  • Approve permanent check-cashing limits of del Lago guests within designated limits and according to criteria in order to allow qualified customers to have convenient access to funds, with the objective of encouraging greater gaming activities.
  • Responsible for communication within department ensuring information is shared with team members.
  • Maintain contact with Security and Surveillance Agents and the bank to locate variances and ensure proper handling of monies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONSMust have ability to:
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of Team Members, guests and outside contacts.
  • Work effectively in a fast paced environment.
  • Move around all work areas effectively and efficiently.
  • Work long hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Extended time seated as well as on your feet.
JOB QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GED, and at least one (1) year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience in high volume cash operations. Proficient in using the Ten Key Adding Machine. Must have a professional demeanor and be able to communicate well with the public. Must be able to work in an intense and fast paced environment where a high degree of concentration is necessary to perform job duties.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIESIn addition to the other duties described herein, each and every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:
  • Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.
  • Obtain required license(s).
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member's department.
  • Have knowledge of the Property's programs to address problem gambling.
  • Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and Internal Controls.
  • Take the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management.
  • Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any Team Member that they have knowledge of.
