YOUR ROLE:
This role will be influential in developing the continuing and rapid growth of our Healthcare Practice.

As a Senior Healthcare Electrical Engineer, you will take a leadership role in building the practice together with leadership; designing and developing electrical systems holistically and conceptually; generating and translating electrical systems into final solutions for various healthcare and research building types as part of a multi-disciplinary project team.

You will have the opportunity to influence project direction and outcomes by taking a proactive role in the design and development of documentation and supervising a projects implementation in the field.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Ensure the overall design intent of the project established by the Performance Based Design process is incorporated into the detailed documentation
Provide extensive expertise in the technical aspects of the electrical design including code compliance, specifications, system integration and constructability
Work cross functionally to create project scope and budget, provide quality assurance, conduct work sessions and meetings, troubleshoot issues, prepare project documentations, and to coordinate other technical project components
Create and maintain a positive relationship of trust with Client Leadership regarding your area of expertise. This includes attending interviews
Attend site-visits to resolve issues encountered in the field such as unforeseen conditions, code issues, and interpretation of construction documents
Mentor, train, and direct the work of less experienced staff

Coordinate the work of the electrical design team through the schematic design development and construction document phase of a project.

Review completed reports, submittals, drawings, estimates and calculations for accuracy
Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
Prepare building models, detailed contract documents, construction documents, photometric simulations, arc flash and specifications consistent with Progressive AE's standards. Determine and promote the best use of design software and technology to accomplish these tasks most efficiently

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

Your Degree:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET-accredited program or equivalent in education and experience required for professional licensure.

Your Licensure:
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with current license. Multiple state licensures preferred. CSI-CDT certification preferred (and training provided). LEED AP BD+C and WELL AP certification preferred.

Your Professional Organizations:


Membership at organizations such as American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE), Healthcare Engineering Alliance Society (HEALS), or similar and their local chapters preferred.

NCEES registration and NSPE membership preferred.

Thought Leadership:


Track record of reporting and/or presenting at professional organizations conferences, publishing white-papers and demonstrating internal and external thought leadership preferred.


Your Knowledge and Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with a wide variety of project types
Strong knowledge of the electrical engineering and documentation process. Strong experience independently designing power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security systems and communications for large, complex tasks and assignments, as well as those of a routine nature
Acute knowledge of the production of construction drawings and specifications
Experience executing the quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) processes
Solid background producing construction drawings and specifications. Strong knowledge of electrical standards and regulations, and experience researching and applying/incorporating into technical documents

Strong experience coordinating and integrating work with architects, designers, engineers, construction administrators, consultants, authorities having jurisdiction, and other members of a project team.

Ability to oversee and work effectively with project team members evidenced by positive project results and outcomes
Experience independently prioritizing and managing multiple projects of complex nature while working professionally with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to successfully prioritize work, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines. Ability to drive other less experienced team members to meet the same goals
Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally to people both internally and externally within all levels, including participation in interviews.
Excellent track record of thriving in a deadline-driven, client service setting with experienced and less experienced staff, as demonstrated through your competencies

Your Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of Revit and/or AutoCAD required
Experience in Arc Flash Studies utilizing software for simulations. Proficiency in Elum Tools or Visual Lighting Software and Easy Power
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required
