Aquinas Consulting has an immediate need for a licensed E1 Electrician job at a world class research and development / engineering facility located in the Danbury, CT area. This role is ideal for an experienced electrician with strong installation, maintenance and upgrade skills interested in taking charge of key maintenance projects. The right candidate will be a talented team player with leadership abilities and excellent multitasking capabilities.

This is an onsite role Monday through Friday. However, it also requires the employee to be on call for evenings, nights, and weekends, once every three weeks (rotating with two other maintenance team members).

E1 Electrician Job responsibilities:

  • Change light bulbs, ballasts, light switches, outlets, sensors, etc.
  • Change electrical in new offices/labs and oversee electrical set up of redesigned laboratories.
  • Run power (portable, cap & cord, or permanently installed) to new equipment, machinery and devices for labs.
  • Disconnect equipment for removal and disposal.
  • Run generators (diesel run) and transfer switches.
  • Replace fan motors.
  • Install and upgrade electrical systems as needed.
  • Layout power lines from braker (panel to new power source. 400+ panels).
  • Troubleshoot large kitchen appliances with any power issues.

Daily Tasks:

  • Go on BMS (Building Maintenance System) and check for required maintenance and alarms.
  • Replace lightbulbs and ballasts if necessary. (Check different parts of building each day).
  • Assist different vendors with UPS (Universal Power Supply) with whatever units require servicing. Report results to facilities manager and close out WO (work order).
  • Order electrical supplies as needed.
  • Create an order list for supplies from Grangers and give it to the facilities manager.

Weekly Tasks: (Work Orders)

  • Weekly meter readings (electrical, water, and gas meters total. Log results into L-drive
  • Read charts and change filters for humidity and temperature in three dry labs.

Monthly tasks: (Work Orders)

  • Test emergency lights (either battery or ballast backup).
  • Test GCFI's (on roof or outdoors) every month.

Quarterly Tasks (Work Orders):

  • Perform ladder inspections on ALL ladders.

Fire Alarm System:

  • Clean smoke detectors as needed.
  • Clean out dust particles (impairment) so the building does not clear out.

Other:

  • General maintenance duties including light plumbing and drain clearing.
  • Repair air/water leaks.
  • Filter and belt changes.
  • Run fire pump.
  • Treat wastewater.
  • Troubleshoot electrical components of HVAC systems. Work with HVAC Maintenance team specialists
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks, maintain multiple priorities and have excellent follow up.
  • Must have strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Perform any other duties as needed.
