Position Accountabilities and Essential Functions:
The successful candidate must show experience, skills, and commitment to promoting an environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion among students, faculty, and staff.
The Associate Head Coach should embody Delta College Athletics' core values on a daily basis: Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, and Leadership.
To support student success through academics by laying a solid foundation for the young participants, guiding them to excel both on and off the court.
The Associate Head Coach collaborates with student-athletes to enhance their personal, leadership, and teamwork abilities in a competitive collegiate environment.
Responsibilities include various aspects of the program such as recruitment, scheduling opponents, overseeing scholarships and budgets, as well as training and coaching team members.
The Associate Head Coach acts as a responsible community member and a role model for student-athletes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

Student-Athletes:
- Provides leadership and instruction in both personal and athletic development.
- Develops team rules regarding appearances, practice, class attendance, punctuality, dress code, and behavior standards.
- Monitors student-athlete grades, conduct, and eligibility status, taking action when necessary.
- Works with the Head Coach on academic success initiatives for student-athletes.

General:
- Adheres to the philosophy and principles of Delta College.
- Demonstrates knowledge and compliance with athletic regulations set by Delta College, NJCAA, and MCCAA.
- Exercises good judgment and upholds departmental decisions and policies.
- Acts as a role model for students and the college community.

Staff:
- Establishes coaching philosophy and skill development plans.
- Recruits academically prepared student-athletes within the recruitment guidelines.
- Conducts off-season activities and maintains high standards.
- Implements fundraising activities to support program competitiveness.

Administrative:
- Supports the athletic director in competition scheduling.
- Manages practice and facility requirements.
- Ensures documentation for student-athlete eligibility is organized and complete.
- Oversees equipment needs and follows institutional guidelines.

Finance and Equipment:
- Participates in budgeting and fundraising initiatives.
- Promotes the program for local, state, and national recognition.
- Manages travel logistics and equipment distribution.

Public Relations:
- Represents the institution with integrity and professionalism.
- Maintains accurate information for promotional purposes.
- Builds relationships with local media and educational institutions for recruitment.

Required Qualifications:
- Associates degree
- Knowledge of first aid and safety procedures
- Familiarity with regulations for the sport coached
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population
- Demonstrated professionalism and positive work environment contribution

Additional Experiences Considered:
- Bachelor's degree in any field
- Minimum of three years coaching experience
- Knowledge of sports regulations
