Information System Security Officer (ISSO) at Innovative Management Concepts, Inc. (IMC)

The Information System Security Officer (ISSO) at IMC will play a vital role in supporting a successful cybersecurity and privacy program for a government customer. As the principal advisor to the system owner, you would be responsible for ensuring the security of an information system, both technically and otherwise.

Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Provide expertise in and perform actions related to:
    • Assessment and Accreditation.
    • Risk management.
    • Continuous monitoring.
    • Reviewing scan results.
    • Audit log reviews.
    • Change management.
    • Vulnerability management.
    • Incident response.
    • Handling privacy-related and sensitive data.
  • Prepare and maintain required artifacts, i.e., system security plan(s) and associated documentation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure necessary artifacts such as policies, procedures, and training are in place.
  • Advise stakeholders on risk levels, security posture, and cost/benefit analysis of information security programs.
  • Evaluate and implement security improvement actions as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Basic Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, information technology, or related field of study.
  • Five or more years of experience in cybersecurity or information assurance.
  • Must possess one of the following professional certifications in ACTIVE Status: Security+CE, CAP, CISM, CISSP, or GSLC.
  • Demonstrated skills in analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving for cybersecurity.
  • Knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity and Risk Management frameworks, risk management processes, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required for this position.
  • Must obtain a federal background investigation of Tier 2 Critical Non-Sensitive.
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience in HHS as a Government Employee or Contractor.
