Job Description

Aramark Sports & Entertainment is looking to hire a new Sous Chef to support our food and beverage operation for the Cape May Ferry

THE OPPORTUNITY: The Sous Chef is a is a full-time, year-round management position supporting the Executive Chef in managing hourly culinary staff and developing and executing culinary solutions to meet customer needs and tastes. The Sous Chef will coordinate, plan, participate, and supervise the production, preparation, and presentation of food. Services will be located at the Cape May ? Lewes Ferry Terminal in Cape May, NJ and include Café operation, an indoor/outdoor Restaurant and Bar, and exclusive Catering spaces. The Terminal features roughly 280 indoor and 130 outdoor seats, patio and outside green, all offering panoramic views of the scenic Delaware Bay.

WHO YOU ARE: Our Sous Chefs offer a wide variety of culinary solutions to meet customer and client needs and tastes. They are skilled culinarians, apply culinary techniques to food preparation, and manage the final presentation and service of food. Ideal candidates will be well-rounded in food preparation, techniques and skills and have experience in multiple types of cuisines.

Job Responsibilities

? Trains and leads kitchen personnel
? Supervises/coordinates all related culinary activities
? Estimates food consumption and requisition or purchase food
? Selects and develops recipes and standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
? Establishes presentation technique and quality standards, and plans and prices menus
? Ensures proper equipment operation/maintenance and ensures proper safety and sanitation in the kitchen
? Oversees special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrate culinary techniques

Qualifications

? Requires at least 2-3 years in a related position
? Requires at least 2-3 years of post-high school education, preferably a culinary degree
? Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
? Requires experiential knowledge of management of people and/or problems.
? Requires verbal, reading, and written communication skills
