Role description:
Arcadis is currently seeking a highly motivated Supervising Distribution Engineer to join the Power Delivery team in Atlanta, GA or Houston, TX /anywhere in US). Arcadis' Power Delivery group partners with clients to provide comprehensive plans that incorporate all aspects of their projects.

This is a lead technical position within the Power Delivery team of Arcadis.

The position consisting in the coordination of the power delivery Distribution Engineering team and performing hands on engineering, detail design and studies for utility and developer clients in North America.

The incumbent will also work closely with distribution and transmission engineering team within the Power Delivery group. As part of the Power Delivery team, you will help improve quality of life.

Role accountabilities:

Support, develop, manage, and deliver distribution overhead and underground line projects with quality, schedule, and safe design in mind.

Work with Project Engineer and Project Manager to deliver and coordinate engineering design requirements, assessing and developing large design packages for complex cable/conduit projects in dense urban environments, work permit development, easements, and ROW applications.

Independently perform engineering and detail design drawings, studies and analysis, plan and profile documents, prepare bidding documents and specifications, bills of materials, shop drawing review, procurement and construction documents Act as a Project Manager and Technical Manager to guide, supervise, and mentor junior designers and team members and responsible for QA on client reports and deliverables.

Produce and review detailed design documentation including utility design system, line layout/routing, overhead and underground distribution, and identification of conflicting utilities.

Maintaining close coordination and help other relevant Arcadis Business Units and Practices for cross selling and cross staffing opportunities. As well as Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.

Additionally, this position may involve travel of up to 25% to client sites and customer meetings, both within North America and potentially internationally.


Qualifications & Experience:


Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Civil engineering from an accredited college or university Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in either working directly with an electric utility or an electric utility consulting company performing design engineering for electric power distribution system.

Must be proficient with AutoCAD and PoleForeman; good to have PLS CAD Ability to engineer and design distribution foundations, material, plan and profiles, and construction packages.

Plus execute and delivery distribution line package under minimal supervision of Lead engineer Must have knowledge of applicable NESC, NEC, ASCE and other applicable standards in engineering and design of distribution projects.
