Odessa, Texas, United States Medical Center Hospital Full time

Position Summary:

Schedule appointments with physician offices, hospitals and other facilities for procedures and specialist referrals. Obtain authorizations from insurance companies for ordered lab and diagnostic procedures. Communicate professionally with physicians, patients and other offices to coordinate referral appointments and procedures

Qualifications:

A. Education:

High School diploma or equivalent.

B. Training & Experience:

One to three years of commensurate experience in general office capacity. Medical background is preferred. Excellent telephone skills required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) abilities desirable but not mandatory.

C. Job Knowledge:

Must be professional and have strong interpersonal communication skills. Must be capable of learning rapidly and accepting change. Must also have the ability to work with ProCare's computer system, which also involves patient data entry and requirements through various computer functions.

Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Must be mature and have a sincere, dedicated attitude. Must be able to maintain

A pleasant, even temperament while working under pressure and heavy workloads. Must have the ability to conduct business in person and on the telephone. Position requires sitting for extended periods of time.
