Physician Extender

Alliance Orthopedics, the region's most dynamic multidisciplinary practice, is seeking an energetic, motivated, and articulate addition to our team Our Physician Extenders work side-by-side with our medical team. ATCs are an integral part of our sports medicine team of medical doctors, orthopedic surgeons, functional medicine practitioners, and pain management physicians. Additionally, our Physician Extenders function as the medical liaisons to our conservative care team of chiropractors, physical therapists, clinical athletic trainers, occupational therapists, exercise physiologists, and more The ideal candidate will thrive in this role given the clinical background that ATCs possess. A licensed athletic trainer brings a unique role and perspective to the medical arm of our practice.

ON THE JOB TRAINING PROVIDED (Must possess a valid Athletic Trainer License in the state of New Jersey to be considered for the role)

Summary of Responsibilities:

Build rapport and relationships with our patients Understand THEIR GOALSPrimary responsibility pertains to medical care coordinationObtain clinical history and perform preliminary assessments/evaluationsOrganize physician schedules, notes, imaging studies, care plans, etc.Record patient vitals, test results, progress notes, and other medical information while maintaining strict confidentialityBecome the compassionate liaison between the physician and patient, providing support, attention, and encouragement to the patients and their familiesConduct post-procedure next day follow-upFacilitate distribution of necessary Durable Medical EquipmentEnsure compliance with all healthcare regulations including but not limited to, HIPAA and OSHAPartner with the Clinic Supervisor to execute additional administrative dutiesStand out as a valuable team member, bringing energy in collaboration with all other healthcare disciplines in a team setting to help our patients get BETTER EVERYDAY

Requirements:

Valid New Jersey Athletic Trainer License REQUIREDDegree from and accredited Athletic Training Education Program2+ years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with OTC certificationBasic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures, reference tools, and appropriate clinical pharmacology for scope of practiceExcellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills, especially the ability to show compassion for patients coming from all walks of lifeFamiliarity with electronic medical record systemsWillingness to challenge patients, other team members, and yourself
