POSITION SUMMARY

The Director, Marketing oversees day-to-day marketing and communication functions for a specific market. Reporting to the Regional Director of Consumer Engagement or the AVP of Marketing Operations, this role involves development and implementation of consumer engagement strategies, media relations, and crisis communications.

The ideal candidate will contribute to the development of strategic consumer engagement initiatives aimed at increasing volumes, enhancing reputation and brand awareness, and advancing business objectives across a growing network of hospitals and physician clinics. Additionally, the Director will create and manage initiatives tailored to the local market, including overseeing market-level marketing staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the consumer engagement team on branding, marketing, and advertising functions, including service line marketing and community/educational outreach.
  • Communication and Reporting: Regularly communicate consumer engagement strategies and provide local intelligence to the broader consumer team. Monthly reporting is essential.
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and counsel in marketing and communications. Leverage both organic/earned media to continually improve strategies and enhance impact and engagement.
  • Local Engagement Ownership: Take ownership of local engagement needs and collaborate with the broader consumer team to develop and implement effective strategies.
  • Team Development: Mentor, coach, develop, and manage the local market team to achieve organizational and professional goals.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with multiple internal teams, clients, and stakeholders at both the local and enterprise levels.
  • Consumer Experience Enhancement: Work with the consumer experience team and local operations to improve consumer experiences.
  • Strategic Planning: Support the development of the local market strategic plan and the consumer team marketing plan.
  • Community Representation: Represent the organization and/or department at community and business meetings, make presentations, and promote existing or new services.
  • Process Optimization: Collaborate with peers across the enterprise to optimize processes, create functional teams, and develop strategies for volume growth and reactivation of dormant patients.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations or related field
  • Masters Degree preferred
  • Two or more years management experience, preferably in fast-paced hospital based marketing

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
  • The Director should work well as part of a team.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills are necessary.
  • They should be self-motivated and take ownership of assignments.
  • The ability to listen effectively to internal and external customers and understand instructions is crucial.
  • Demonstrated ability to address and resolve issues.
  • A strong understanding of business concepts and the ability to communicate a vision and execute details.
  • The Director should positively influence employees and stakeholders.
