About the Position:
- Job Title: Sr. Database Developer
- In this role, you will be a key member of a dynamic team working on developing state-of-the-art software solutions with an award-winning product.
- Utilizing your exceptional problem-solving abilities, you will collaborate closely with the team's Architect to devise innovative solutions catering to various industries and clients.
- Reporting directly to the Director of Product Software Engineering, this position offers the flexibility to work remotely from your home office while highlighting that VISA sponsorship is not available for this role.

  • Work with the Architect to define product design.
  • Implement queries, procedures, and database adjustments to support feature development.
  • Collaborate across Agile teams, offering support, guidance, and implementing complex queries and schema changes.
  • Prioritize work items, provide estimates, and ensure clear communication of progress/status.
  • Conduct Code Reviews and address issues identified by Static analysis tools.
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team to troubleshoot deployment issues when necessary.
  • Participate in release upgrades to production systems.
  • Contribute to essential Architecture documentation and participate in gate reviews covering Infrastructure, security, and performance aspects.
  • Ensure self-certification of deliverables prior to transitioning to downstream consumers (QA and customers).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Minimum high school diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in database development, with a preference for product development experience.

Technical Experience:

  • Extensive hands-on experience with SQL Server.
  • Proficient in performance tuning of queries and stored procedures.
  • Thorough understanding of SQL Server internals such as Index structures, Statistics, Cardinality estimation, etc.
  • Skilled in interpreting execution plans to optimize query performance.
  • Expertise in resolving deadlock scenarios.
  • Experience working with OLTP and Reporting databases.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL processes using SSIS.
  • Experience in C#/.NET is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and query optimization proficiency.
  • Effective team player with the capacity to mentor junior team members.
  • Familiarity with agile SDLC, product release cycles, best practices, code reviews, and defect management.
  • Knowledge of multi-threading, application clustering, scalability, performance optimization, application security, code analysis, and optimization.
  • Solid understanding of database concepts, design, and development best practices.
  • Ensuring adherence to best design practices and continuous product improvement.
