The Client is currently working on a cutting-edge IT system for industrial property tax purposes. Taxpayers will have the convenience to submit their annual industrial property tax returns using the new system for the tax year starting January 1, 2025, with a filing deadline of March 15, 2025. The platform will be a secure online services portal built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 GCC, aiming to streamline processes by eliminating the need for traditional mailed returns, providing easy access to forms, account details, secure communication, and more.

The project rollout will happen in two phases: Phase 1 focuses on establishing a taxpayer and county web portal for industrial property tax returns, scheduled to go live on 1/1/2025. Phase 2 will introduce appraisal/inspection functionalities with a launch date set for 5/19/2025. This project marks a significant shift towards modernization from a legacy system developed more than 20 years ago, requiring a blend of Organizational Change Management and proficient expertise in cutting-edge IT skills.

The project follows PMBOK standards, with an Agile software development lifecycle in place.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions and contribute to test plan development
  • Create detailed and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Estimate, prioritize, and coordinate testing activities
  • Design and execute automation scripts using open-source tools
  • Identify, document, and track bugs efficiently
  • Conduct thorough regression testing after bug resolutions
  • Engage in GAP analysis with the vendor
  • Collaborate with BA and development lead for functional and technical understanding
  • Develop comprehensive test plans for different testing phases
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create test cases for various testing scenarios
  • Execute test cases, record results, and prepare test summary reports
  • Perform smoke tests to verify the system's correct functionality
  • Establish testing processes for new and existing products to meet client requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in software development and quality assurance
  • Deep understanding of quality assurance practices and tools
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in testing best practices, version control, and defect management
  • Experience in test automation and Agile methodologies
  • Familiarity with Dynamics 365 or similar tools, and Azure DevOps
  • Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Experience in writing clear and comprehensive test plans and cases
  • Hands-on experience in white box and black box testing, as well as automated testing tools

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field
  • Prior exposure to Tax applications
