Job Details:

Job Name: Specimen Processor I

Location : Seattle, WA 98122

Duration : 16-17 months Contract (Possibilities of extension)

Shift : Mon- Fri 8 am-5 pm

Payrate : $18-20/hr. on w2 without benefits/ *Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications.

Job Details:

  • The main function of a specimen processor is to perform specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operation procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

Open specimens and pour off into secondary containers to prepare for analysis and testing.

Verify patient demographic information matches the test requisition form submitted.

Data entry of patient information into the computer system for tracking purposes.

Hybrid type of specimen processor job. Candidate will be working the front desk, registering patients, collecting money if due, checking in patients.

They will also be processing specimens, in regard to spinning samples, packaging and shipping.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous medical or production experience is preferred.
  • Proficient computer and typing skills.
  • Standardized color vision test must be administered to evaluate if potential accommodation is needed for worker.
  • Comfortable handling human biological specimens including blood, urine and tissue samples.
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs, work in protective equipment and sit/stand for long periods of time.
  • Strong eye hand coordination to accurately identify specimens by touch and sight.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to problem solve.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
