SOURCING SPECIALIST

Accupac is hiring a full-time, Sourcing Specialist, for our Harleysville, PA location.
Basic Job Functions:

Sourcing Specialist responsible for select or assigned operations focused on the procurement of materials and supplies needed for the manufacturing and packaging operations of the organization, as well as executing & optimizing the sourcing solutions of the end-to-end supply chain with a time horizon focus of 1-5 years. Will function with limited or no supervision.

Essential Functions of the Job:

· Typical duties include placing orders with vendors, following up on and expediting orders to assure on time and in full deliveries, developing sourcing strategies for New Product Development (NPD) projects, outsourcing options, business continuity planning, cost optimized solutions, and future business needs.

· Prepares all aspects of procurement solicitations for formally advertised or negotiated procedures including term, conditions, scope of work, and customer compliance.

· Researches supply sources. Advises on cost effective alternatives as needed.

· Reviews and approves requisitions, supply sources, supplies, quotations, terms, etc.

· Personally handles contract negotiations covering items of major importance or magnitude. Negotiates price, delivery, quantity, payment, change orders, etc.

· Provides liaison between vendor and Accupac department heads for procurement procedures, order status, and problem resolution.

· Resolves delivery and quality nonconformance issues.

· Interprets MRP reports and executes order placement with suppliers to ensure timely supply of material while balancing inventory.

· Verifies invoices against original orders and resolves discrepancies.

· Maintains purchase orders, vendor and material information.

· Works closely with cross functional teams (i.e., sales, customer service, project management, production, quality, warehouse, and R&D)

· Prepares routine customer reports and price updates in addition to requests for quotation for prospective business.

· Identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement (CI).

· Enforce strategic inventory policies and procedures to achieve inventory turn objectives.

· Collects market intelligence and develops profiles for key suppliers.

· Leads the development of risk mitigation and outsourcing recommendations.

Minimum Requirements of the Job:

· Ability to perform complex tasks and to prioritize multiple projects.

· Ability to document work in progress.

· Knowledge of cost analysis techniques.

· Ability to evaluate procurement bids in accordance with established criteria.

· Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.

· Conflict resolution and/or mediation skills.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

· Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.

· Negotiating skills.

· Ability to assess contract compliance and product/service quality.

· Ability to analyze and solve problems.

· Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.

· Ability to prepare formal procurement solicitations in compliance with Accupac business policies and any state procurement code.

· Must be highly organized and detail oriented.

· Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.

· Ability to think strategically.

Physical Requirements:

· Walking/Standing on concrete floors for up to one (1) hour per day and walking long distances.

· Sitting for 80-90% of the work day.

· Climbing step stools and maintaining balance.

· Lift/Carry items up to 25 pounds.

· Pushing/Pulling items up to 50 pounds.

· Hear/Execute clear speech, in person and over the telephone.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

Travel: Occasional

Education and/or Experience: Must have a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of Buyer experience in a manufacturing environment using ERP software. APICS or equivalent certification preferred.
