The Patient Support Agent position (call center representative) allows you to create a warm and welcoming environment for both our patients and providers. This role involves scheduling patients with our providers through incoming and outgoing calls, focusing on delivering outstanding customer service. The position also provides operational support for patient care in a call center setting. Key responsibilities include answering calls promptly and professionally, scheduling appointments, entering insurance information, and redirecting calls as necessary. Compliance with facility and provider scheduling guidelines is essential.

Job Responsibilities

  • Communicate courteously and professionally with patients over the phone.
  • Complete new patient registrations and schedule patient appointments accurately.
  • Log all patient interactions in their respective charts promptly.
  • Efficiently fill patient cancellation slots to optimize provider schedules.
  • Ensure high levels of patient satisfaction by meeting quality standards in patient care.
  • Update the database of referring physicians as required.
  • Work with online scheduling systems and Electronic Health Records (EHR).
  • Verify patient data and insurance details for billing accuracy.
  • Address patient concerns or escalate them to management when necessary.
Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Previous experience in Call Centers, Customer Service, or related fields (preferred).
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish (required).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong Customer Service skills.
  • Understanding of medical terminology related to coordinating ophthalmic care.
  • Proficiency in using desktop computers, keyboards, mice, and headsets.
  • Familiarity with common ocular symptoms and complaints.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Proficient in using hands to handle objects and perform repetitive movements.
