Required License/Registration/Certification:

Candidates must have one or more of the following:
- Kentucky Registered SRNA, for ED- KY Registered SRNA, or EMT
- RN nursing student completed first fundamental course and clinical
- Military Medic
- LPN

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull varying weights, stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. Work conditions may include exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials.

Shift:

Variable shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. The ideal candidate will be flexible with shift assignments and will undergo up to 40 hours per week orientation during the initial 6 to 8 weeks of employment. The role may require floating between UK Chandler and Good Samaritan locations. A minimum of 60 hours per 6-week schedule is mandatory.

Job Summary:

As a Nursing Care Technician in the Per Diem pool, you will be responsible for patient care, satisfaction, and clinical outcomes. Duties include providing comfort to patients and promptly reporting any changes to the RN. This position covers units at Chandler and Samaritan.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:

Prior experience as a nursing care tech is highly preferred. Good communication skills and reliability are essential.

Preferred Education/Experience:

Prior experience as an NCT or completion of Fundamentals of Nursing Class/Clinical is preferred. Candidates must be available for orientation classes and unit orientations.
