Opioids Chemist

Location: Indianapolis, IN 46202

Job Type: Onsite Role

Description:

  • Chemist in the Chemistry Laboratory responsible for preparing and analyzing various samples such as urine, serum, and blood for opioids and other new psychoactive substances, as well as a range of contaminants including pharmaceuticals, radionuclides, metals, and pesticides.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Physical Science from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years as an analytical chemist with broad knowledge of analytical, organic, and inorganic chemistry principles and practices.
  • Prior experience analyzing syringe residue and urine for opioids and other substances using advanced instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with state and federal laws and regulations related to the field.
  • Knowledge of laboratory practices and ability to communicate effectively with others.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct complex chemical analysis on various matrices to detect contaminants or toxic substances using sophisticated instrumentation while complying with relevant requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to Quality Assurance guidelines and maintain technical expertise.
  • Perform maintenance and repair on laboratory equipment, complete paperwork, and update procedures.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and undergo training on analytical procedures.
  • Assist supervisor with assigned tasks.
