About the Job:
This position involves providing respiratory therapy treatment modalities in various treatment areas, including the Intensive Care Unit. The role also entails offering assistance during cardiopulmonary resuscitation and treating and monitoring ventilator cases. It requires knowledge of growth and development principles to deliver respiratory care to patients of all age groups. Additionally, the individual will assume responsibility and act as the physician's assistant during bronchoscopies.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should be a Registered Respiratory Therapist or a Certified Respiratory Therapist recognized by the National Board for Respiratory Care. A minimum of an A.S. or an A.A.S. degree from a COARC accredited program is necessary. State of Pennsylvania licensure is also a requirement.

Experience:
The candidate must be a graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Therapy Program and preferably possess a minimum of one year of experience in intensive and general care as a respiratory therapist. Orientation for specific procedures and hospital protocols is essential.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assess, treat, and monitor ventilator cases in critical care and medical/surgery areas
  • Follow Respiratory Therapy (RT) Protocol and assessment standards
  • Recognize and handle emergency situations effectively
  • Offer flexibility in scheduling to meet patient care needs
  • Assist physicians during bronchoscopy procedures
  • Recommend additional data collection through various tests
  • Evaluate pulmonary function studies and blood analysis
  • Assist in orienting new Respiratory Care Practitioners
  • Ensure cost-effective patient care by using resources responsibly

Other Responsibilities:
  • Maintain BLS provider certification
  • Demonstrate initiative and independence in patient care areas

  • Accept additional duties as necessary
