Who We Are
Sage Recovery & Wellness is a two-location recovery organization. We have an outpatient facility in West Austin and a residential treatment center in Manor.


Sage Recovery Villa is a 15-bed, 35-day residential treatment center for adults specializing in the treatment of substance use disorders and trauma.

This luxury treatment center is located on 24-acres of countryside estate, just east of Austin in Manor, TX.

What We're Seeking

Sage is currently looking for a part-time
Relief Cook who is able to help support the Head Chef in cooking and preparing meals for our residential clients.

This role is mostly focused on assisting with food prep, helping the Head Chef create a sustainable menu, and providing support on weekends.

We would love to find someone with behavioral tech experience who is passionate about cooking, or vice versa.

Reports to:
Head Chef, House Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of ingredients for daily menu, including washing, cutting, baking, etc. of food items
  • Prepares meals per curated menu efficiently and with care to ensure scheduled client mealtimes are met
  • Adapts menu to provide alternatives based on client allergy or dietary restrictions/recommendations
  • Implements substitute of like ingredients due to availability or ordering issues
  • Maintains inventory storage and labelling standards, including expiration dates and notating waste
  • Puts away food deliveries quickly and efficiently to ensure temperatures are controlled
  • Helps maintain inventory counts/logs, and reports discrepancies to Head Chef
  • Demonstrates and promotes adherence to food safety standards and a clean, safe and orderly workstation
  • Reviews and completes daily staff communications, including temperature/task logs and notes
  • Contributes to workplace culture of positivity and teamwork, fostering open communication, creative solutions, and good morale
  • Reports any kitchen or staff related issues to the Head Chef or House Manager
  • Maintains professional boundaries with staff and uphold client confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines
  • Upholds the mission, values, policies and spirit of Sage Recovery Villa

Special Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.) and the ability to follow a food budget
  • Knowledge of local and state health department standards
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 35 pounds
  • Must be prepared to obtain any additional licenses or certificates necessary to comply with state law
  • Experience in the recovery field and/or passion for mental health and recovery preferred

Education & Qualification:

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent recommended
  • Current Food Handler's License
  • 12 years experience in food preparation and production, preferably in a restaurant/catering/group setting
  • Weekday flexibility with consistent Weekend availability
