Job Type Part-timeDescriptionHeart Havens is seeking caring PRN Floater Direct Support Professional in our homes in the Varina area. The PRN Floater is crucial in maintaining consistent and quality support for Heart Havens' residents.

This role involves being adaptable and ready to step in when regular staff members are unavailable or when additional support is needed.

This position does not have a set schedule and is considered part-time.
Must be available to work Overnights, weekends, and evenings. You must be available to work at least 2 shifts per month. Flexibility is necessary as the schedule will change based on the staffing needs of the program. This position REQUIRES cross training and working as needed in our two homes in the Varina area.

As a PRN, you'll empower adults with a developmental disability to live full, vibrant, and happy lives.

While you'll provide support for everyday activities, such as meal preparation, you'll also support people as they plan for bigger events, such as trips.

You'll support people as they discover what they're passionate about and pursue their dreams.

Direct Support Professional:
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilitiesKnowledge of basic human physical and psychological needsKnowledge and passionate use of person-centered approachKnowledge of health and safety precautionsDemonstrated leadership ability, emotional maturity and patienceGood verbal and written communication skillsProficient typing and computer skillsDemonstrated flexibility and reliabilityMust be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving recordHigh school diploma or GED preferredRequired training: Therapeutic Options, 1st Aid/CPR/AED, 32 hour Medical Administration (paid training provided)

Qualifications and Expectations:
Valid Virginia driver's license

Physical Requirements:

May require driving up to 8 hoursMay require frequent bending, stooping, squatting, reaching and walkingMay require standing up for up to 8 hoursMay require lifting at times, up to 25 poundsIn order to be employed as a Direct Support Professional, candidates must comply with state background screening requirements.
