About the Job

Some key responsibilities of this role include:
  • Plan and oversee specialized programs addressing various critical issues impacting national programs and resources to minimize the uneven effects of substance use and mental illness.
  • Coordinate agency initiatives to guarantee that all groups have fair access to high-quality behavioral health care.
  • Handle matters related to raising awareness and providing information on behavioral health inequalities and strategies to boost health equity in grant procedures and policy formulation.
Qualifications

Eligibility for this position is open to all U.S. Citizens, Federal Competitive Status Candidates, Current SES and SES Reinstatement Eligibles, and SESCDP Graduates. As a basic rule, candidates are required to demonstrate leadership experience that shows senior executive level managerial capability related to the outlined skills and abilities. Experience at or above the GS-15 level or equivalent is essential, gained in governmental, private sector, or non-governmental organizations.

All applicants for SES positions must exhibit leadership experience indicative of senior executive level management capability. You need to demonstrate IN YOUR RESUME that you possess the Fundamental Competencies, Five Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs), and Job Specific Mandatory Technical Qualifications (MTQs).

Salary

The salary range for Senior Executive Service positions may vary based on qualifications. This role may also qualify for performance bonuses and pay adjustments based on performance.

Duties

ABOUT THE POSITION

Responsible for planning and directing/executing specialized programs on a wide range of issues that have broad impact on established national programs and resources to reduce the disparate impact of substance use and mental illness. Coordinates agency efforts to ensure that all populations have access to high quality behavioral health care. Responsible for issues dealing with raising awareness and access to information regarding behavioral health disparities and strategies to promote health equity in grant-making operations and policy development.
