When it comes to job roles, we are currently looking for a dynamic professional to take on the responsibility of leading a category team and overseeing the profitability of a specific range of products.

Responsibilities
  • Formulate annual and multi-year category strategies and present budget proposals to senior management
  • Analyze monthly and yearly financial performance of categories, including regular review of profit and loss (P&L) data
  • Coordinate category reviews and planning sessions with the category team and support units
  • Ensure compliance with contractual agreements and obligations between Pilot Flying J (PFJ) and vendors
  • Attend industry events to contribute to business planning processes
  • Engage with customers and team members in-store to gather feedback on product offerings and promotions
  • Manage vendor relationships, including product review, cost negotiations, and supply chain oversight
  • Monitor inventory management and controls actively
  • Stay updated on industry and category trends to facilitate planning and development activities
  • Demonstrate behaviors aligned with the company's mission; provide top-level support to guests and team members
  • Ensure all operations adhere to regulations and internal policies
  • Carry out additional assigned duties as necessary
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferably a Bachelor's degree in business or a related field
  • Minimum of three years' experience in category management
Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills for decision-making and planning
  • Ability to multitask and mentor team members effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Agility to adapt to a fast-paced business environment
  • Willingness to embrace new technologies

Travel

Occasional travel, less than 25%, with potential overnight stays
