Job Summary:


As a Digital Dental Lab Technician at our practice, you are tasked with the creation and adjustment of various high-quality dental prosthetics, closely following the specifications outlined by our world-class specialists, including oral surgeons, periodontists, and a prosthodontist.

This role requires a meticulous eye for detail and a comprehensive knowledge of dental materials and technology, specifically intraoral scanners, facial scanners, digital design software, and 3D printing technology.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and execute dental prescriptions and detailed specifications from specialists in a timely manner, adhering to due dates.
  • Engage in consultations with the team to ensure clarity of instructions and understanding of patientspecific needs.
  • Craft and adjust dental prostheses using specialized laboratory equipment.
  • Select optimal materials for each prosthetic, tailored to patient requirements.
  • Perfect the fit and aesthetics of dental appliances, ensuring patient comfort and prosthetic functionality.
  • Document all laboratory procedures, materials used, and maintain patient confidentiality with precise records.
  • Enhance laboratory operations by collaborating on quality control, process efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay current with advancements in dental technology and materials to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Manage the sterilization and maintenance of all laboratory equipment, adhering to stringent infection control standards.
  • Uphold workplace safety standards maintaining an organized, clean, and presentable laboratory environment at all times.
  • Facilitate ongoing communication regarding case status, adjustments, and logístical arrangements for appliance delivery.
  • Support the team with additional tasks as needed to maintain smooth operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Digital Dental Lab Technician; certification in dental lab technology preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency in both traditional and digital dental technology processes:
  • Must be proficient in Exocad and have experience in full arch digital implant workflow with photogrammetry (i.e. AO4, AOX, hybrids) and digital workflow for immediate single implant crown provisionalization. This includes digital design of prostheses, fabrication of surgical guides for implant therapy, and 3D printing of full arch and single crown implant prostheses.

Current digital technology in the practice includes:
a RayFace facial scanner, Trios 4 and 5 Intraoral Scanners, MicronMapper Photogrammetry, and Sprint Ray Printers.

  • Familiarity with Smart Denture Conversion Protocol is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of dental materials and techniques relevant to dentistry.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and artistic abilities to ensure aesthetic and functional dental solutions.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fastpaced team environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning new technologies in dental lab work.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of professional interactions with dental professionals and staff.
  • Efficient time management and organizational abilities.
  • Adherence to all health and safety guidelines, with a solid understanding of infection control practices.

Working Conditions:


The Dental Lab Technician role is predominantly based in a dental laboratory setting, involving extended periods of standing and meticulous work.

The role may require some physical tasks such as bending and lifting. Technicians must adhere to safety guidelines to mitigate risks in a potentially noisy environment.

While the position typically follows standard business hours, some flexibility including evening or weekend shifts may be necessary to accommodate urgent requests or deadlines.


This position requires a consistent professional demeanor and excellent interpersonal skills as interactions with clients and office staff are frequent.
