Position Overview:

Freddie Mac's Finance Division is currently seeking a Sr. Derivatives Financial Controller to be a member of the Investment & Capital Markets (I&CM) Derivative Decentralized Accounting Baseline (DAU). The DAU is responsible for the preparation and analysis of the monthly/quarterly accounting close cycles for Freddie Mac's Derivative portfolios.

The Investments and Capital Markets CFO department is responsible for financial accounting and reporting, portfolio risk and profitability analysis, pricing and valuation activities, and financial planning & analysis for Freddie Mac's Capital Markets activities.

Your Impact:
  • Prepare presentations delivered to senior management and the Board of Directors
  • See opportunities for enhancing and improving our process and data infrastructure
  • Develop and lead junior level staff
  • Assist and support ongoing SOX compliance activities
  • Support Internal/External Auditor requests and concerns
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related degree
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Typically has minimum 5-7 years of related experience in accounting, fixed income, financial services, and/or financial analysis
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and MS Word
  • Previous accounting experience and/or knowledge in GAAP

  • Knowledge of I&CM transactions
  • PeopleSoft financials or Hyperion knowledge preferred
  • Deep curiosity to learn about fixed income markets and desire to keep up to date on market condition
  • Able to build positive relationships with business partners
