This position involves providing respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to a diverse range of patients. From neonatal to geriatric, the responsibilities include setting up, monitoring, and weaning Oxygen Therapy and Artificial ventilation, analyzing Arterial Blood Gases and EKGs, delivering therapy, and assisting with airway changes. The role entails following physician's orders and adhering to established policies and procedures.

Education

  • Required - Associate's Degree
  • Preferred- Bachelor's Degree

Work Experience

  • Required - None

Certifications

  • Required - Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
  • Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
  • ACLS obtained in 90 days

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and information retrieval
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Windows-style applications, specific software, and keyboard usage
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Perform therapeutic procedures following policies
  • Document clinical information
  • Educate patients and colleagues
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures
  • Provide age-appropriate care
  • Adapt behavior to different patient populations

Additional responsibilities may be required. The job involves staying updated on relevant laws and regulations, ensuring compliance in the assigned area.

Physical and Environmental Demands
The job includes physical requirements such as lifting, bending, and prolonged standing or sitting. Mechanical lifting devices should be used when necessary. The role may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, hazardous medications, and diseases.
