Description: This job opportunity as a Lab Technician at Cannon Muskegon in Muskegon, Michigan focuses on analyzing samples at the CMC Laboratory. The role involves entering analysis data into systems, calibrating equipment, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Adhere to company EH&S policies.
- Perform chemical analysis using established procedures.
- Operate analytical instruments and apparatus.
- Maintain records of analysis functions.
- Conduct analysis primarily with LECO equipment.
- Assist in maintenance and adjustment of analytical equipment.
- Collect and prepare samples for testing.
- Maintain records of test results.
- Assist in training new Lab Technicians.
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of work area and equipment.
- Perform additional experimental work as required.
- Assist other Laboratory personnel as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Two-year degree in Applied Science or two years' experience in XRF analysis of materials.
Qualifications:
- Basic math aptitude.
- Computer skills.
- Ability to read and communicate technical information.
- Knowledge of Periodic Table of Elements.
- Detail-oriented with analytical ability.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift weight, and work overtime.
